The CTRL Collectiv was born from a shared need for something that we couldn’t find—a close, affirming space for queer youth.

As children, the existing biases and stigma in the world felt oppressing and stifling. Pressured by a society that was unwilling to accept anything other than the binary norms, we and many others felt the need to hide and explore our identities and sexualities alone. Upon us was a shame that wasn’t ours to carry, forced by traditions and expectations we never asked for.

But not all traditions are meant to stay.

This collective was created to provide a space for queer youth to support and find support amongst each other. Together, we reclaim CTRL—of not only our identities, but of the stories we live and the world around us.
